Research

I work at the intersection of spatial ecology and statistics, developing biologically realistic models to understand how space use, dispersal, and demography respond to density, environment, and landscape structure. The goal is to turn ecological theory into practical tools for conservation and management.

Teaching

I teach on the Statistical Ecology MSc at St Andrews, which I also coordinate. Current courses:

  • Modelling Wildlife Population Dynamics (MT5767)
  • Estimating Animal Abundance and Biodiversity (MT5751)

Previously at UMass Amherst I taught quantitative ecology, applied ecological statistics, R programming, and science communication at both undergraduate and graduate level.
